About Culverhouse & James

Diane Culverhouse

Diane Culverhouse

... operates from the North-West office assisted by her PA, Paula Cook.  With Diane's contacts at all levels in Television and Radio, she ensures C&J writers are alerted to all current programme opportunities, assists with development when required and enables new writers to clamber onto the first rung of professional writing.

Her background is all about recruitment and development of writers for Television & Radio.  She was Associate Producer for "Family Affairs", with a key role in the launching of the flagship soap; Head of Scripts at "The Bill" and at "Brookside"; storyliner on "Coronation Street"; and Script Editor and writer on "Jupiter Moon", "Crossroads", and "The Archers".  Diane has also written "Boon" and "Family Affairs".  In Radio she directed and produced Radio Drama, Morning Story, and a number of documentaries.  In 1997 she was responsible for setting up at Liverpool John Moores University, the only post-graduate course for Script-Editing in Europe. Diane also acts in a freelance capacity as Script Consultant with television & training companies.

In 1993 Jill co-founded the highly successful TAPS (Training and Performance Showcase), a charitable scheme based at Shepperton Studios to promote talented new writers for television and film. Jill has spent four years as Chairman of Events & Education at BAFTA and has been on the BAFTA Council & Television Committee since 1997; also on the Skillset Training Forum. Jill was nominated for a "Creative Briton" Award from the government's scheme, "Arts & Business".
